Thimphu weavers

Weavers first, software second.

Kira Handloom is in Thimphu. The woman who leads a backstrap weaving cooperative founded it with a developer who made an online order book for Bhutanese craft sellers. Blockchain is new to us, and Canton and Daml are still being learned.

• Valleys: Thimphu and Bumthang, Bhutan. A small Thimphu team who visit weaving groups and sit beside the looms where each kira is made.
• Stage: A first version. No kira has been recorded on it for a real buyer.
• Ledger experience: None of us has run a ledger before. Weavers hear before they join that we are new to shared ledgers.
